Okay, this sounds even better than the first. Not exactly low calorie, but who is counting during the holidays!?
ReplyDeleteThis recipe is very similar to one I got from Linnie Pope... hers makes about 1/2 as many as yours...I named it:
ReplyDeleteLinnie's Melt In Your Mouth Sugar Cookies
1/2 Cup Butter
1/2 Cup Oil
1/2 Cup Sugar
1/2 Cup Powdered Sugar
1 egg
1/2 tsp vanilla
1/2 tsp cream of tarter
1/2 tsp soda
1/4 tsp salt
2 1/4 cups Flour
Mix well, chill.
Shape into balls, put on cookie sheet and press down using bottom of a glass dipped in sugar... all the better if the glass has a patterned design on the bottom like Linnie's glass has...
bake at 350 degrees for 12 minutes...
best when slightly browned
btw - Jim fell just before Christmas and is in a transitional care facility because of a broken leg, especially difficult with his weak legs from polio many years ago. Linnie has declined so much in recent years that she is very dependent on him... their son & daughter-in-law (Steve & Deb) are taking care of her...
